The Jetson’s (Journalwithme#7)

I love old cartoons. I grew up with classics like Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Inspector Gadget and many more. My parents grew up with even older classics like Bugs Bunny, Flinestones and the Jetsons. It was always fun to imagine yourself in these imaginary cartoon worlds.

This week’s question asks:

“What is something from the Jetson universe that you would like to see in real life?”

If you’re unaware, the Jetsons was a cartoon set in an imaginative futuristic century. They consisted of father George, a charismatic goofy man who always seems to be getting into trouble, his wife Jane, a housewife who focuses on making her family happy, children Judy and Elroy and the family dog Astro. They live and work in Orbit City.

The Jetson universe is filled with wonderful futuristic gadgets that seem to help make their day to day lives easier (most of the time anyway). Viewers have been exposed to holograms, robotic maids, flying cars and more. Drones, jet packs, robotic help (Roomba anyone?) and smartwatches are just a few of the clever inventions the writers in the 60s came up with that are a reality today.

Of all these inventions and devices, I would have to say the one I’d most like to see in our reality is the flying cars. Let me just say how helpful it would be to have flying cars transport people across the country, the continent and even across the world. I’m sure fuel would be astronomical, but hey no more airplane food! A flying car would be incredible to have.
