The Ninth Month

This last month has been kicking my well rounded belly. I’m constantly exhausted, sore, stressed beyond belief about all the things I have to do in such a short period of time and beginning to come to the realization that soon I will have two children in my life.

Everything else has been taking a bit of a back burner. I’ve neglected my writing, journaling, blogging, hobby reading, photography and replaced it with full time toddler care and infant preparation.

This last month in particular has been a cluster of appointments with my OB, preparing a nursery, cleaning infant clothing and organizing them, scrubbing the house top to bottom on top of all the other regular things I have to do. At the end of the night, all I want to do is park my behind on the couch, eat sugary cereals and watch Netflix.

I know that soon my time is going to be even more constricted when I have a newborn who is going to need my constant attention, and then I can add sleep deprivation to the list. The only thing keeping me sane? The cereal eating and mindless tv.

I’ve learned that self care is one of the most important things you can do for yourself when you are not feeling 100%. It will help relax you, ease your discomfort and make you feel better about the things that are stressing you out in your life.

What sorts of activities help you keep calm? Message me below and let me know.

  1. Reading has always been my go to with a nice cup of tea and some social biscuits. I’ve been encouraged to spend some time with meditation. That’s never been my strong suite but I am trying to take some time everyday in quiet to practice. Even if it’s only deep breathing, at least I’ve done something!
You’ve got this and this little boy who is on his way is one lucky little fella!

    1. Reading was one of my favourite things to do. It’s hard to find time during the day where you can just try and let go of everything in your mind and focus on breathing. I’ve tried and it lasts, oh, point two of a second because I immediately fantasize about what I should be doing haha. Thank you for your comment! 🙂
