Creative Outlets (Journalwithme#11)

This week’s question is:

“What creative outlet do you find yourself relating to the most? (Writing, music, theatre, visual arts, carpentry etc)”

As a blogger, writing is my passion. I work full time, and I’m a mother, so I’m finding it more and more difficult to find time to sit and write WHILE balancing the remainder of my life. Tonight for example, I sat down in front of my laptop for the first time in a week to resume writing a novel series (ProjectMagic) and within fifteen minutes, my yawns were so long, my eyes were watering and slowly closing so I had to shut it down and go upstairs.

Being a mother is very draining. These little souls take every ounce of energy you have, and when you find the slight burst to accomplish something, they sense that and take it from you too. I’m finding it harder and harder to write as my daughter gets older.

I use a multitude of creative outlets for my writing. I journal (both private and a keepsake journal for my daughter), I am in the process of writing two separate novels (ProjectMagic and ProjectLife), and I am trying (and failing) to publish a new blog 3x a week WHILE being an exhausted full time working mom. This blog is looking like a pile of excuses now so I’m going to end this here. Hopefully I can get back into it soon!
